Responding to each visitor who leaves a comment is important. Some people leave long, thoughtful comments. These require thoughtful responses.Effective blog posts generate more involved comments than others and so, require more time from the author.

The author also has to manage (or babysit) the whole process. Things go wrong. Posts don't appear when they should, etc.

Bottom line - if you don't leave yourself enough time during the blog tour, you will have wasted all the time and effort you put into setting it up.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3241362000528307226.post-23529658609463562722009-06-05T16:52:32.229-07:002009-06-05T16:52:32.229-07:00I certainly agree with this post. It makes you more visible, and you create a caring profile of you and your books.
Billie
http://printedwords.blogspot.com
http://blogtourblog.wordpress.comAnonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11469607629317842216noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3241362000528307226.post-15916021091882182892009-05-26T11:18:48.570-07:002009-05-26T11:18:48.570-07:00I have a couple of book signings and these are rel...I have a couple of book signings and these are relatively easy. I communicate via email with the bookstores, they order 10-20 books, and I show up.

I can see Book Blog Tours are far more involved. There's a certain level of committment nedded to make it successful. Time is one. I can see spending 20-30 hours a week on a book blog tour of 15 stops.

In comparison, a book signing takes up maybe 5-6 hours, and this includes the two hours of the actual event.

Stephen Tremp
Author – Breakthrough: The Adventures of Chase Manhattan
http://www.stephentremp.blogspot.comAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3241362000528307226.post-65507816590125103162009-05-25T14:02:13.163-07:002009-05-25T14:02:13.163-07:00Some authors feel they can write all their blog to...Some authors feel they can write all their blog tour posts ahead of time and then just let the two tours run simultaneously.
